There are prior requirements you have to possess in order to take the CISSP Exam. People have to possess a minimum of five years of direct full-time security work experience. One of these years can be foregone if the student has a four year college degree to their name. One of the years of full-time security work can also be foregone if the student possesses a Masters Degree in Information Security. Other certifications can also serve to knock the 1 year off the requirement.
If a candidate does not possess the five years of direct full-time security work, they can instead earn a Associate of designation by passing the required course work. Students must also accept the CISSP Code of Ethics. Attesting to the truth of their assertions and accepting the CISSP Code of Ethics go hand in hand!
Students must also answer four questions regarding their criminal history and related background.
Passing the CISSP Exam is not as difficult as you might think. Passing this test requires that students have passed the test with 700 out of a possible 1000 points. The exam itself consists of 250 multiple choice questions with four options to each question. Students are given 6 hours to complete the test. There are also 25 questions on the test that are experimental and aren’t graded.
The qualifications of the CISSP student must be verified by another person holding the CISSP qualifications. This is called an endorser and the endorser must attest to the truth of the student’s claims about their professional experiences and their standing in the information security industry.
Taking the online CISSP Exam is one of the best moves a student can make. Better than trying to pass the exam in person, the online option gives you the ability to study on your own level. Certification documents are the same as what you would get from an in person testing facility.
The CISSP Exam itself is not all that difficult to pass. Having multiple choice questions makes recognizing the correct answer easier. You can ensure that you have a good chance of scoring the required 700 points if you study hard and retain the information required to pass.
